Last Updated: September 2nd, 2024
Ham Choi Imports, LLC. is committed to ensuring that our supply chains are free from slavery and human trafficking. We believe in conducting our business with integrity and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including the California Transparency in Supply Chains Act of 2010 (SB 657).
Our Commitment
As part of our commitment to ethical and socially responsible business practices, we strive to ensure that slavery and human trafficking do not exist in our supply chain or in any part of our business operations. To that end, we have implemented the following measures:
1. Verification
We engage in internal and third-party audits to evaluate and address risks of human trafficking and slavery in our supply chains. These audits include evaluating our suppliers’ compliance with our ethical standards and adherence to local laws regarding forced labor, human trafficking, and slavery.
2. Supplier Audits
We conduct regular audits of our suppliers, either through announced or unannounced visits, to assess their compliance with our policies against slavery and human trafficking. These audits are conducted by independent third-party auditors or by our internal team. Suppliers who fail to comply with our standards may be subject to corrective action, up to and including termination of our business relationship.
3. Certification
As part of our onboarding process, we require suppliers to certify that the materials used in their products comply with local laws regarding slavery, human trafficking, forced labor, and child labor in the countries in which they operate. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for any supplier that engages in human trafficking or slavery.
4. Internal Accountability
We have established internal accountability standards and procedures for employees, contractors, and suppliers who fail to meet our standards on human trafficking and slavery. Employees and suppliers are required to adhere to our Code of Conduct, which strictly prohibits any form of forced labor, child labor, and human trafficking.
5. Training
We provide training for employees and management who have direct responsibility for supply chain management, particularly with respect to mitigating the risks of human trafficking and slavery. This training includes identifying signs of human trafficking and forced labor and understanding how to take action to prevent and report violations.
Continuous Improvement
We recognize that eradicating slavery and human trafficking from our supply chains is an ongoing effort. Ham Choi Imports, LLC. is committed to continuously improving our policies, procedures, and practices to combat these issues. We are dedicated to working with our suppliers, partners, and stakeholders to promote ethical practices and transparency throughout our supply chain.
